New or used. Dealer or private sale. Family car to tradesperson’s ute — we handle both personal use and business-purpose vehicles.

Light commercial to heavy freight. Single vehicle or a fleet. Finance structured around your cashflow — monthly, quarterly or seasonal payments.

Excavators, forklifts, fit-out, medical equipment, solar, IT. If it helps run the business and has a serial number, we can finance it.

Finance structures explained

We’ll recommend the right structure based on your tax position and cashflow. Here’s a quick comparison.

Chattel Mortgage

Most popular for business use. You own the vehicle from day one — lender holds a charge until paid. Full GST input tax credit claimable upfront. Interest and depreciation deductible.

Best for: ABN holders, GST registered, vehicle used >50% for work

Commercial Hire Purchase

Lender buys the asset and hires it to you. Ownership transfers at the end of the term on final payment. Payments include GST — claim on each BAS. Good if you’re not GST registered.

Best for: sole traders, non-GST registered ABN holders

Finance Lease

Lender retains ownership; you lease it and claim payments as an expense. Residual value (balloon) at the end — buy it, re-lease it, or sell it. Lower monthly payments.

Best for: businesses wanting lower repayments, fleet vehicles

Real example: Bankstown sparky, 14 months ABN

Situation: Electrician, ABN 14 months old, GST registered. Needed a $62,000 dual-cab ute — essential for the job. No tax return filed yet (first year of trading). Previously knocked back by his bank.

What we used: Last 2 BAS returns (showed $180k annualised GST-inclusive turnover) + 3 months business bank statements. Chattel mortgage, 60-month term, $12,000 balloon.

Result: Approved in 6 hours. Keys in 36 hours. Full GST input tax credit ($5,636) claimed on first BAS. Monthly repayment: $987.

Common questions

I’ve only had my ABN for 12 months — am I eligible?

Yes, with the right lender. From 12 months ABN you can access alt doc finance using your BAS returns and bank statements to show income. Most banks require 2 years — we work with lenders who don’t.

How fast can you settle?

Most straightforward applications are approved within 6–24 hours and settled in 24–48 hours. Private sales can take a little longer due to title checks. We’ll give you a realistic timeline upfront.

Can I finance a private sale vehicle?

Yes. Private sale is fine — we’ll handle the PPSR check, title verification and payment to the seller. Many of our clients buy at auction or through Facebook Marketplace. Just bring us the details.

Does applying affect my credit score?

We run a soft assessment first — no credit enquiry — before submitting to any lender. This protects your credit file. A hard enquiry only happens once we’ve identified a lender likely to approve you.

Can I get finance if I have a default or late payment on my credit file?

Sometimes yes, depending on the type, age, and amount of the default. Paid defaults are looked at differently to unpaid ones. Tell us what’s on your file and we’ll tell you honestly what your options are — we won’t waste your time or your credit score.
